EXPERTISE?Have a successful track record of great results and pupil growth from previous teaching (e.g. IELTS, IGCSE English as a Second language).?Ability to assess pupils’ language proficiencies using CEFR scales.?Experience in designing bespoke lessons and units of work with appropriately high expectations for all pupils leveraging diverse and high-quality resources to support learning differentiating and tailoring the curriculum to stretch, challenge and support pupils for varied language proficiencies.?A history of collaboration and co-planning within/across departments.?To have a demonstrable commitment to professional learning.?Prior experience of working with Chinese and English language learners preferred. PREFERRED APTITUDES?Display the five Wellington Values.?Be able to assess pupils’ interests, needs and development.?Be able to develop the curriculum using best practices from current research, including the EAL field.?Proficiency with EdTech.?Previous cross-cultural working experience is preferred.?Effective communicator – communicates well with a diverse community of teachers, leaders and parents.?Willingness to share best practices with fellow team members to have a productive dialogue and elevate instruction for English language learners.?Commitment to working with pupils with learning differences and who are English language learners.
